Today was paintathon day, not much else to say really.
I managed one undercoat and two top coats on the windows, two coats on the ceiling, and some paint on the walls to start covering up the orangy colour, i also wallpapered over the missing pieces.
Todays PITA job was cleaning the walls and ceiling ready for painting, this alone took two hours!
one more thing, i never use oil based paints on door or window frames anymore, that stuff is the work of the devil.
Water based gloss is the way to go, no smell, no need for white spirit to clean your brushes, it dries faster too and IMO looks just as good. Altogether nicer, still a tedious job painting window frames tho.
I don't use brushes either, OK, well, i do for the fiddly bits but these things are great, little foam rollers give you a nice spray like finish, so no brush marks!
Never use cheap brushes either, fine for undersealing your car with but rubbish for stuff like this, having to constantly stop to pick bristles out of my handy work makes everything take twice as long and finger marks in the paitwork is a real no no. Oil based paint and cheap brushes, ahhhhhggggg, it's the stuff of nightmares.
Tomorrow is finish painting day, and then go and get the stuff i need for sundays jobs. (everything is closed here on sundays so if i don't get EVERYTHING i need tomorrow sunday could be a real frustrating day)
Nice new patch of wallpaper. Not entirely invisible join, but i'm seroiusly running short of time here and wallpapering the whole wall just isn't going to happen.
This will get painted tomorrow.
This is going to be the next PITA job, scheduled for sunday, shut of the water and get rid off the whole sink unit....then put in the new one, that is going to be a long day.
