While the snow is here we might as well make the most of it.
Maud decided that yesterday was the day that she would attempt to beat the current land speed record of 1227km/h (763mph)
Maud getting a last pep talk, she doesn't really seem to be listening.
One last good luck hug.
My incompetence, my irresponsibility, everyday ordinary stuff - but mostly - Maud, Henny and Brand.

Failed attempt
Despite being unsuccessful Maud wasn't too disappointed.
We need to find 1220km/h from somewhere, i think she may have to concentrate on keeping her arms tucked in more.
A quick de-briefing and Maud was already planning the next attempt.
This it IT!
Let me use your sledge dad and i know i can beat the record.
I may be incompetent and irresponsible Maud....but i'm not stupid.
She hitched a ride with Kristiane instead just to asses the feasibility of a joint attempt.

Evolution
It didn't take Maud long to realise that everybody who is anybody must have a mobile phone, yes indeed, these days a phone is a must have accessory which of course has to be kept with you at all times just in case that important somebody calls.
No matter that she can't even walk yet if needs must then crawling can be adapted. No problem.

Old age
Well Thursday again already so must be time to blog, it's 7 days since my last confession... erm... blog post so here we go again on the day Maud becomes 11 months old.
The ageing process is giving Maud cause for concern already, she is getting increasingly worried that these close ups are going to show her wrinkles.
and here for the first time is a shot of Mauds upper teeth, still only three of them but i'm assuming there are more on the way.

Utopia?
Any of you feel that Norway is some kind of utopia just because it tops the Human Development Index? .....well it ain't.
It seems increasingly unlikely that we will get a place at nursery for Maud in time for when i'm due back at work on the 5th March. No places available, or we didn't get picked out, for either the local authority or privately owned nurseries we have appplied for. (We are allowed to apply for seven different nurseries in our district with our applicantion being entered into a lottery with lucky winners being picked out at random, it's not even a waiting list system ....oh and applying outside of our district isn't allowed either.)
We are still clinging to the hope that we can get her into Silje's work or college nurseries but they have long waiting lists and the earliest we could theoretically get places there would be the 2nd April.
The only other alternative would seem to be some kind of day nanny....umm....cheap it isn't.
Maud, oblivious to her lack of nursery place, carries on regardless - after polishing off another jar of baby food she continues to casually sip her water while watching Silje stir her coffee.

I know!
Yes i know, I've been a terrible blogger over the last couple of weeks so here is, at last, the first post of the new year.
We all had a fantastic time at Grandma's house in Manchester over Christmas but as always holidays have to come to an end and so here we are back in Oslo.
Plenty to do here too, Maud has finally kicked us out of our bedroom so after 10 months of sharing the same room our bed has been relocated into the dining room, so no more dinner parties for us.
Arriving back in Oslo didn't mean the end of presents for us though, we had Christmas all over again a couple of days ago when we opened all the presents we couldn't take with us to England. Maud seems to be getting the swing of this present opening lark.
