yes really and not just me either.
Today was Maud's first baby swimming lesson.
and here are her very groovy new swimming trunks or should that be bikini bottoms, no lets be honest here, quite frankly you can only call these one thing, exactly what they are....sh!t stoppers.
Me, erm, in there.
Surely some mistake
Baby paddle .....and probably piddle too.
Me and Maud showing off our fabulous sun tans.
Ahem.
That's what you get for building a kitchen during your summer holiday i suppose.
My incompetence, my irresponsibility, everyday ordinary stuff - but mostly - Maud, Henny and Brand.

Summer is still here
It's been a beautiful couple of days here in Oslo, probably the last few days of the summer sun. So we have been out and about.
I have lived here for 9 years now (it will be 9 years on 3rd september) and i'm ashamed to say that i haven't seen half the things that the city has to offer, luckily i now have tons of time to do just this kind of thing. Like the city hall for example, never been in there before. Impressive main gallery with a fantastic view out over the Oslo fjord.
Took time to stroll around the park next to the royal palace too.....
while Maud used the time to meditate.
View of Oslo's own 'twin towers' Norways two tallest buildings (you're impressed i can tell) as seen from the botanical gardens.

Ship of fools
Maud decided that it would be a nice day for a trip out in her boat today, so she press-ganged all her stuffed friends and ordered them aboard.
Maud sets the controls to full steam ahead.
A shot from the rescue helicopter
Captain Maud was less than happy with her ramshackle bunch of crew members. Poor koala bore the brunt and was cast overboard.

Time for a transformation
Maud's pram is a kind of 3-in-1 set up. So we decided it was about time, since Maud can now sit up by herself, that we ditched the carry cot bit.
Maud and Kristiane discuss the pros and cons of the forthcoming upgrade to the pram.
looking a bit sceptical about taking the next step and letting go of the carry cot.
Maud orders a round of drinks and puts it on Silje's bill.

Transformed
Maud all snug in her more upright position.
Don't really know what this is about - a flashback to the unfortunate polar bear in the shopping centre incident maybe.

What a whopper
There was a big criuse ship docked in Oslo today and Maud being the nosey type just had to go along to take a look.
It was P&O's Arcadia for those of you who are interested (probably nobody)

½
Well well, doesn't time fly when you're having fun?
Maud celebrated 6 months free from the umbilical cord yesterday and marked the occassion by showing us a new trick, sitting unaided.
Admittedly it only lasts for about 30 seconds and involves a lot of arm waggling, now whether this is due to excitement or as a balancing aid i'm not sure, but eventually the inevitable happens and gravity does its thing.
Still this is the breakthrough Maud 'nosey parker' has been waiting for, and now the only way really is up.
Maud also managed to guzzle down a 295ml (10fl oz) bottle before bedtime tonight so this sitting thing is either hard work or that gravity thing is doing its stuff again.
Sitting is fun, but lying down and kicking your legs is not a skill to be forgotten either.
It must be getting close to winter now as the polar bears have begun hanging round the shopping centres again. Luckily i was able to fight this one off before he made off with Mauds pram.
