Maud is very keen on talking, making silly noises, and producing pints of dribble at the moment, this isn't her best work, she can do better, but we get a good range of just exactly what she can 'accomplish' in one little film clip.
Don't worry, at one point it might look like she could be choking but this is all part of her act....trust me.

Equilibrium?
Not posted anything for the last few days mainly due to, well lets be honest here, laziness and the fact that I’m ill and have an addiction.
That’s right I’m addicted to football and have a severe case of world cup fever. Have you seen how may games they're showing a day at the moment?
How, I hear you all ask, do I have time to watch the world cup with a baby in the house….easy, and this brings me back to my post on Monday, now I’m not usually the kind to blow my own trumpet, so to speak, but just in case you didn’t know, we are parents to the best baby in the world.
Maud, most conveniently, goes to sleep around 8:30 pm and is then giving it large Zzzz’s all the way through until about 8am…..yes it’s the truth….really, after all she is the best baby in the world. This gives me time to watch footy.
I am in no way suggesting Maud’s goodness is due to us being super expert parents, although we would very much like to think it is. No, I think it’s down to luck, and this worries me.
I’m a firm believer, OK maybe not believer, but I reckon that there is some kind of ‘Law of Equilibrium’ when it comes to good fortune. That is to say if I have something good happen in my life I fully expect something bad to happen too, maybe not right away but it will happen, just to even things out. What goes around comes around.
Now being the father to the best baby in the world gives me, I believe, reason to be worried, I’m worried about the major badness that is waiting around every corner ready to get even, or maybe not, maybe this is just an extremely good thing evening out a bad thing that has already happened? I’m hoping.
Now enough insane babblings from me and lets get on with what you all want to see and read about…Maud.
I’m reliably informed by my good wife that today is Maud’s name day, but this only appears to apply in Norway, name day in Sweden today for example is devoted to Paulina or Paula. Doesn’t seem to be something that the British bother with. (I’m sure you’ll correct me if I’m wrong here mum)
Maud has spent her week in the usual manner, socialising and have a generally fun time.
Here at baby club on Tuesday.
and meeting Jonas on wednesday.

One long picnic
Another day in the park for Maud today, this time with Jens and his mum Tone.
Me and Maud got ourselves ready for another world cup game this evening, and we were lucly enough to witness yet another exhibition of total football from the soon to be world champions England as they gave the mighty Trinidad & Tobago and beating that will live long in the memory. What? Eh? Oh.
Ummm.. 2 - 0 Both goals coming in the last 7 minutes....
...the only way is up from here surely?
this is what Maud thought about it.

Passport
Well as you see from yesterdays posting ...we managed it, it took a while but here is the result...and the finished product with the important bits blanked out so none of you baddies can steal her identity.
Height 61cm ...hmmm... thats probably wrong already.
I like the bit that says
NOT ABLE TO SIGN
nobody actually asked her if she would like to try.
...Oh, and she does have ears.....in reality, just in case you're wondering.

Baby club
Baby club day again for Maud today as you can see this means just lazing around in the park.
Maud also got her passport back in the post today, most probably the first ever Conibear with a Norwegian passport. She was pleased with her photo but much more interested in watching the France v Switzerland game on TV...that's my girl!

Pretty in pink
8 month hibernation comes to an end...
What with one thing and another i haven't been able to pick up my Austin from winter storage until this weekend, it was great to see the car again after almost 8 months!
Here it is looking a bit dusty but otherwise fine fettle. She started without a problem (not bad for a 42 year old car) and the 2 hour journey back to Oslo went without a hint of trouble, it's really only about 45 mins away but i took the scenic route and had a great blast along the country lanes :)
It is time for the MOT (EU kontroll) on friday so i'm going to have to try and find time this week in between all the world cup matches, designing a new kitchen for the flat, enjoying the sunny summer weather....the small matter of a full time job...oh and a wife and baby, to make sure it is ready for that. Hmmm.
Having the Austin back also means that the Triumph gets pushed out onto the mean streets of Oslo to fend for itself, here it is looking way cooler than all the other kids on the block. Ha.

Yellow suit day
No, not me but Maud.
Wearing her summer suit today very kindly knitted by Mormor, fits perfectly and looks cute in it too.
Dangerous Dave T was in Oslo this weekend for a work conference, so we met up and had a great time talking babies as he has recently become a dad too.
Maud begged me to take her down the pub (don't worry the bars are smoke free over here) so she could experience her first World Cup game. I reluctantly agreed and she got to see a breath taking display of football by the soon to be world champions England as they soundly beat Paraguay, erm..... 1 - 0 thanks to an own goal. I bet brazil are really quaking in their boots after that performance, ahem.
