A decade of Maud

The Maudster at 10

So much has happened over the last ten years that it would be wrong to say that it has gone past in a blur, some days have been longer than others, some weeks have been longer than others, but then again these ten years have indeed slipped passed. Not that Maud would agree obviously.

Of course it's not only Maud that is celebrating becoming ten today, why I&I was started on this very day 10 years ago too. We can see cameras have improved too.

Luckily these ten years have been very kind to Maud, we can't be anything else than overjoyed at the person she is.

So what does a ten year old have at the top of their wish list, yup. An iPhone. So the presents may evolve but one thing stays the same, cake is always on the wish list.

Happy 10th birthday Maud.

Not too many, not too few.

4. Just the right amonut for the little man.
If pirates ate cake they would most likely eat muffins.
Bit of theme to his precents this year. A pirate is the most fascinating thing of all.
Sporting the annual nursery made crown.

Backdated

'They say, we're overrated
By the things we do
They say, we're all backdated
Well, you know it's true'

The Flood

The Soundtrack of Our Lives

Ahem, backdated. Let the records show a lie.
Hennys only chance to share that magic of a great number with the likes of Cantona, Coppel, Ronaldo and Robson. 7
Another birthday spread over several days, girls party way back in June before school broke up for hols. Then at Møgdal, then at home.

Still counting

Probably Mauds most anticipated birthday ever, the count down began just after New Year.
Celebrations began last friday with a school classmates party, made more exciting for some with the unexpected addition of a power cut, so pizza, cake, presents and party games by candlelight.
Much noise was made by all, fizzy drinks consumed by the bucket load everybody went home happy.

Next up was the family cake fest on Sunday, the usual suspects with the addition of a couple of Henny's friends gathered at Tjorteland Conibear towers for cake and presents.

Not half term here until next week so Maud had to endure a day of school on her actual birthday, Arriving home for her chosen tea of pancakes (are we actually allowed to consume pancakes ash wednesday??)
More presents, Maud gets skis, a suitable marker for the start of the Nordic ski world cup, oh you didn't know about that? All you needed to know and a bit more about it here.

By the wonders of modern technology Grandma was invited for birthday cake too.

Hall-o-ween

I don't even need to try for Halloween, but the kids need some help to make themselves scary.

New wheels

Maud has out grown the bike she got not so very long ago, must be all the sun this year. So time for new one, and since the bike sale was on in town.... and I was feeling generous.

Somebody has (finally) got a proper big bed to sleep in tonight. Not that he looks so excited about it.

Paris leaves the house

So after the hottest summer for the last 5 million years, the summer when we had to have all the doors closed so the cat didn't escape, he was finally allowed to leave the building. He had already escaped once last week and survived to tell the tale and seemed to want more, he was crazy to get out. I thought an afternoon on the balcony would suffice but he thought otherwise and escaped over the side. A 3 meter drop.
Luckily Maud wasn't home.
So off he disappeared for an hour or so, scrabbling around in the bushes and climbing trees.

He came back of course, phew.

Seems like he really needed the toilet and hadn't really grasped the idea that outside is OK for that kind of thing.

So our youngest has now flow the nest to battle the world on his own.

After a long period uncertainty Maud finally came round and joined him in his new adventure.

He was pretty exhausted after tearing up and down the garden chasing Maud and her stick for half an hour, panting like a dog.
